Community
We all at El Rincon Latino collaborate and support in our small way the local community and charities that are close to our heart. Our neighboring school, homeless projects, the amazing work of our hospice (www.trinityhospice.org.uk), The Anglican Parish Church of Saint Peter-Clapham, and the charity that fights the biggest childhood cancer in Britain (www.leukaemia.org) are some of the organizations we have supported over the years and continue to support.
'Dear all at El Rincon Latino thank you so much for your donation for this year's fayre. The day was a great success and your donation was much appreciated. Many thanks'
- Holy Trinity's Common Fayre took place on the 21st June. Over 20000 people came along and had a great day. With your help we raised over £20000 which goes towards the work of the Church, and Emmaus, a charity which supports homeless people
HOLY TRINITY CHURCH – COMMON FAYRE
El Rincon Latino took part in the organization of the Clapham Festival. Together with Kazbar (www.kudosgroup.com) and Two Brewers (www.the2brewers.com) we organized the LGBT talent event 'Queen of Clapham'. The fashion designer Vivienne Westwood participated as our Head Juror. Fun day had by all!
Dear El Rincon Latino thanks for your kind and generous donation for our summer fair. The event was a huge success! It was greatly enjoyed by the children, their families and many people from the local community.
Thanks to the high number of contributions, we were able to raise £4000 for the Friends of Clapham Manor. This money will go to provide assistance to the school to give children extra opportunities. We usually subsidies school trips to museums and theatres, coaching for after-school clubs and provide funding for larger items of playground equipment.
With the funds that we have been able to raise through your kind support, we aim to continue to give all the children an opportunity to make the most of their time in education.
THE FRIENDS OF CLAPHAM MANOR PRIMARY SCHOOL
'Thank you so much for your kind donation towards our Trinity Week. It was so kind of you to take part and for El Rincon Latino to make a personal donation also means a lot to us.
2008 has been one of the most important years in Trinity’s history of caring for those who are living with a terminal illness.
Early next year we open our new inpatient centre. £5 million has been raised of the £6 million fundraising target. Most of this money has come from people in the community who have understood this need to provide modern facilities.
Your participation really does make a difference. The government only provides one third of the costs. So we exist because of all the donations we receive each year.
Thank you, on behalf of our patients and their families.
TRINITY HOSPICE
'Thank you for helping Years 3 and 4 on Spanish Day. It felt like a party day! Both the children and the staff have said how much they enjoyed the cookery presentation and we think this is something they will remember their year by. We are so grateful for your enthusiasm and ideas – your organization was incredible. We hope we can do more things like this in the future'
